How I came to work with space

In Istria a house was built around the sun and the wind. People knew where the kitchen went and why a window did not face that side. Those were not rules from a book, they came from spending a winter in that house.

For years my work was built on how things looked. After an injury I had to stop and rearrange both my days and my home. When I came back, I looked at space differently: not how it photographs, but how it breathes on a Monday morning.

I am a mother, so I know a home has to hold a day that does not go to plan. That is why I write recommendations you can carry out in stages, without moving out and without knocking down walls.

I studied feng shui as a method, not as a belief. What interests me can be measured and seen: orientation, proportion, light, the path you take through a room.

I work with people who feel that something in their space does not sit right and do not know where to start. My favourite sentence is the one I hear at the end: “this is me”.
